UBS Wealth Management Americas encountered significant challenges in the final quarter of the year, with profits plummeting by 72 percent compared to the previous year.

According to AdvisorHub, the unit, which encompasses advisors across the U.S., Latin America, and Canada, recorded a profit of $102 million, down from $375 million in the same period the year before. This decline was attributed to shrinking margins, driven by reduced revenue and a $60 million provision for a special assessment from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation related to regional banking issues.

Despite these setbacks, UBS executives outlined a strategic roadmap for improvement, aiming for a return to low double-digit margins in the near term and mid-teens margins by the end of 2026, excluding the impact of the FDIC payment.
