Morningstar has released an article entitled, "Why Do Investors 'Break Up' With Their Financial Advisor?" The article draws from the experiences of 184 investors who terminated their relationships with their financial advisors. The article highlights the primary factors behind those decisions:

- 32% cited dissatisfaction with the quality of financial advice or services.

- 21% expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of their relationship with the advisor.

- 17% mentioned concerns about the cost of services.

- 11% were unhappy with their investment returns.

- 10% felt confident in managing their own finances.

- 9% noted a lack of effective communication.

Morningstar opines that a strong client relationship can endure minor issues when that relationship is built on trust and effective communication. The crucial factor is recognizing these minor issues and reinforcing trust by maintaining open communication.
