Sequoia Financial Group has bolstered its presence by acquiring AltruVista, a Houston-based registered investment advisor (RIA) firm. As reported by InvestmentNews, this brings its total locations to 14 across eight states. There were four additional acquisitions in 2023: Zeke Capital Advisors, Cirrus Wealth Management, Affinia Financial Group, and M Capital Advisors.

InvestmentNews also reports that the RIA mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market has rebounded in 2024 following a slowdown in the previous year. According to a report by DeVoe & Co., there have been 49 announced transactions in the first two months of 2024, compared to 41 transactions during the same period last year, indicating a 20% increase. The decline in M&A activity in 2023 marked the first annual decrease in M&A volume in over a decade.
