The Certified Financial Planner Board (CFP Board) reached significant milestones in 2022 with respect to its diversity initiatives. According to the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, female certified financial planners (CFPs) rose to an all-time high of 22,446 in 2022. The number of Hispanic CFP professionals increased by 10.3% in 2021, and Black CFPs grew by 8.8% in 2022.
Overall, CFP membership reached a record high of 95,137 in 2022. Despite the number of CFPs reaching an all-time high for all demographics, the number of women planners has remained around 23 percent for several years.
Increasing the number and diversity of CFP professionals is one of the CFP Board's strategic priorities, According to CFP Board CEO Kevin Keller.
