September 1st, 2023, 2:05 PM

The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) has introduced the Exam Validity Extension Program (EVEP). Under this program, eligible individuals can now prolong the validity of their Series 63 examination for a maximum of five years, even if they are not currently registered with any jurisdiction.

In a news release, NASAA shared that eligible individuals have the option to enroll in EVEP) via their Financial Professional Gateway (FinPro) account. By paying an annual fee of $35 and adhering to program requirements, they can extend the validity of their Series 63 examination for up to five years. It is worth noting that while all eligible individuals can enroll in the program, the extensions will come into effect only when an individual reenters the industry and registers in states that have adopted this initiative.

Additionally, NASAA is actively working on a similar program for investment adviser representatives, known as the IAR EVEP, which will allow them to extend the validity of their Series 65 qualification exam. Enrollments for this program are set to commence later this year. For those seeking to extend both parts of the Series 66 exam, enrolling in both programs, the AG EVEP and the IAR EVEP, is essential to extend both Series 63 and Series 65 Credits, if applicable.
