Mariner has acquired Cowell Insurance Services as the firm continues expanding its advisory platform, according to Business Insurance.
Cowell Insurance Services, headquartered in Overland Park, was founded in 2009 by Lance Cowell and employs 18 staff members. As Business Insurance reported, the brokerage provides both commercial and personal property and casualty insurance coverage.
Mariner, which also operates from Overland Park, offers a range of financial services to individuals and businesses, including investment management and tax advisory services. According to a company statement cited by Business Insurance, the acquisition reflects increasing demand from clients who want advisory relationships that extend beyond investment management.
The firm stated that clients increasingly seek centralized guidance that integrates risk management, liquidity planning, and long term financial strategy, as reported by Business Insurance.
