Fundraising For Non-Traded Alternative Investments Total $43 Billion

Non-traded alternative investments have raised $43 Billion year-to-date through April 2022. That represents a 131 percent increase over the same period of 2021.

Sales of real estate investments reached $15.6 billion. Sales of business development companies followed with $11.6 billion. Interval funds saw $9.5 billion in sales and Delaware statutory trusts saw $3.5 billion in sales.

Blackstone has remained a leader in the alternative investment fundraising space. Currently, its non-traded REIT, Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, has raised $9.7 billion, while its perpetual-life business development company, Blackstone Private Credit Fund, has raised $6.7 billion.

Currently, there is an influx of sponsors exploring the REIT and BDC spaces. Industry executives expect another record-breaking year for alternative assets. According to industry executives, "The non-traded BDC space is the fastest-growing sector of the alternative investment space."
