Grafton Wealth Advisors, a team from Merrill Lynch managing $580 million in client assets, has departed the wirehouse to establish an independent practice with LPL Financial in Winter Park, Florida, as per a recent announcement.

According to AdvisorHub, the move is noteworthy as Grafton Wealth Advisors opted to join LPL's Strategic Wealth Services (SWS) channel. That channel offers supplemental operational assistance, including marketing and real estate resources, in return for an extra revenue-based fee. LPL has strategically invested in SWS, among other affiliation options introduced over the past four years, to widen its recruiting reach. The firm has welcomed 41 teams into the SWS unit, demonstrating its commitment to this approach for expanding its advisor network.
