Edward Jones confirmed plans to reduce its home office workforce, according to an internal memo first reported by the St. Louis Business Journal. The financial services firm, which supports roughly 20,000 financial advisors, stated that branch teams and advisors will not be included in the layoffs.
The company employs approximately 9,000 home office staff across the United States and Canada. In a statement shared with ThinkAdvisor, Edward Jones explained that the restructuring aims to streamline operations, speed up decision-making, strengthen support for both clients and branch offices, and leverage technology, including the use of artificial intelligence.
Although the firm has not disclosed the number of positions that will be eliminated or specific office locations, the most recent annual report shows that Edward Jones operates home office campuses in St. Louis and Tempe, along with additional facilities in Mississauga, Ontario. Employees are also spread across all 50 states and five Canadian provinces, as reported by ThinkAdvisor.
