In an effort to jumpstart its hiring efforts, Edward Jones & Co. has set a target of adding 1,500 experienced advisors and trainees this year. According to Edward Jones, the new hires would represent an increase of around 8 percent on a gross basis from its current total of 18,823 advisors.
A firm spokesperson told AdvisorHub that "Edward Jones is committed to an innovative and intentional strategy to grow its impact." The firm will offer a plan and resources for both current financial advisors and new hires that are intended to help promote branch team success.
Previously, Edward Jones was one of the fastest-growing firms by headcount, but its roster began to shrink after it paused trainee hiring in 2020. Since then, the firm has revamped its hiring model to focus on retention and improve success rates in the training program. The firm has also piloted shared office space for its advisors and plans to bring more diversity among its advisors.
