Commonwealth Financial Network added $11.24 billion in total client assets in 2022. The registered investment advisor (RIA) onboarded 270 advisors in new and existing practices nationwide. 

Commonwealth told ThinkAdvisor that this was the strongest recruiting year in the RIA's 43-year history, adding that new assets almost doubled last year from 2021. Advisors who joined Commonwealth in 2022 came from across the wealth management industry, including RIAs, independent broker-dealers, regional offices and wirehouses. 

The firm experienced increased recruiting success in 2022 with advisor teams and larger enterprise firms. Its wirehouse recruiting efforts also gained momentum.
