AmeriFlex Develops AI Tool to Identify Financial Advisor Succession Opportunities

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the wealth management industry continues to accelerate. According to InvestmentNews, the AmeriFlex Group has developed an AI-powered prospecting program designed to identify financial advisor practices that may approach a succession event.

The Las Vegas-based hybrid RIA calls the program Scout. The firm currently pilots the technology in five key markets and expects to launch it nationally in 2027.

Scout uses a combination of public and proprietary data to build profiles of financial advisor practices and identify potential succession opportunities. The program can assess hundreds of firms during the time traditional research methods might require to evaluate a single practice. According to InvestmentNews, the AmeriFlex Group built Scout in part using Anthropic's Claude AI platform.

The technology identifies advisors who may approach a succession event and flags potential candidates for the firm's succession specialists. The firm developed the program as wealth management companies increasingly focus on advisor succession and the anticipated retirement of experienced advisors.

According to InvestmentNews, the AmeriFlex Group expects to add 100 advisors to its platform during the next 24 months, partly through Scout and other growth initiatives. During the first half of 2026, the firm added 18 advisors representing more than $1.7 billion in total client assets.

The development of Scout reflects the broader adoption of AI throughout wealth management. As InvestmentNews recently reported, research has suggested that AI tools could double advisor productivity by automating time-consuming back-office functions.

Other firms have also introduced AI-based tools designed to support advisor growth and operations. InvestmentNews reports that WealthReach launched an AI-powered referral engine, Feathery raised $30 million to support AI-driven RIA operations, and RightCapital introduced an AI agent for financial planning.
